I like to consider my art a recreation and resurrection of brokenness. I work in the medium of broken glass and watercolor on canvas and like to challenge the concept of beauty and wholeness by recreating abstract works through what most would consider no longer useful. Through my work, I am greatly inspired by the Japanese concept of Wabi-sabi or the embracing of the flawed or imperfect’. I believe that no matter how broken with proper attention anything can be transformed into something more beautiful than before. This is the concept I try to convey through my art so that others may subjectively feel the essence of Wabi-sabi and be able to look at art and the world as a whole in a very unique and ever questioning lens.
Raw Beauty can only be created through entropy and brokenness, and this fundamental law is what I play off of in many different variations through multi media.
